About
Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Terminal is globally recognized as a center of transportation, civic architecture, and commerce – all at once embodying the historic, economic, cultural, and optimistic spirit of New York City. Opened to the public on February 2, 1913, Grand Central’s rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering, but also of survival and rebirth.
This famed landmark welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors daily and serves as host to more than 70 options for shopping and dining. One of Grand Central’s main attractions, the four-faced opal clock in the Main Concourse, is a meeting place for visitors and locals alike. You know you’re a New Yorker when you’ve told a friend to “meet me at the clock”!
